Spring Cleaning: nology helps two new clients clear the clutter

If you haven't noticed, Spring is officially here in Minnesota! After an especially rough winter and 16 inches of snow just three weeks ago down south, us Minnesotan's are more than ready for running, hiking, rooftop patios, and of course some Spring cleaning to clear the clutter in our homes and businesses.

Two of our new clients asked us to lend a hand with some long overdue, low cost, high impact spring cleaning of their network rooms.

Before nology

The first, a large medical practice in the North Metro, had a network that was literally about to roll away. Their equipment was on a rolling cart, nothing was secure, nothing was labeled and there was nothing to prevent the cart from simply rolling away and taking the entire network for 50 staff with it.

After scoping out the project, not only were we able to impact their business by moving their technology services to the cloud, we took some time and effort to prevent their network from rolling away.

After nology

After seeing the haphazard state of their network room, nology installed a low cost wall mountable rack to help organize their firewall, switches, and other network devices. In addition nology provided basic cable management services to help identify connections and solve wiring issues quickly and efficiently in the future.

A new UPS was also installed and tested to ensure uptime in the event of a short power outage and a PoE (Power over Ethernet) switch was installed to support new VoIP phone services.

The second, a mid-size CPA firm in Arden Hills, MN was moving offices and needed a secure cabinet to house their network devices and sensitive network data. Proper cable management and network design goes a long way to eliminate downtime and issues, especially in tax season.

The team at nology also assisted with the entire move of all technology infrastructure to their new location and had the firm up and running on all their systems within hours.

Time to celebrate!

The move, setup, and network design went so smoothly in fact, that the client's leadership team opened some champaign to celebrate the move's completion and the fact that there were zero issues with technology in the process.
